Sharks Acquire Leopold From L.A.

(Hartford,CT) The New England Sharks added some insurance on defence today by acquiring Jordan Leopold from the Los Angeles Devils. In exchange, the Sharks give up $10,000 cash.

"This is a trade for the future, said Sharks GM Robert Dumont, we believe that Jordan will get over his injuries and will become a top 4 blueliner in this league. He will also be in our top 6 this season".

The 26 year old native of Golden Valley, Minnesota was drafted 10th overall in 2003 by Los Angeles but has been injury prone for most of his 3 year career thus far. 2004-2005 was his only non-injury filled season where he scored 29 points in 84 games.

"I'm happy about the trade, said Leopold, there's no room for me here (Los Angeles) and this will give me a fresh start. It'll be fun to play with Crosby and Heatley".
