New England (AP) - The Werewolves of London extended their undefeated streak to 10 games with a 4-2 victory over the New England Sharks. Sergei Fedorov had two goals to lead London.
General Manager and owner of the Werewolves of London had more press around him than any of the players, due to his recent comments about possible collusion in the HBMHL. "I stand behind my comments, a player that signs an unrestricted free agent should not be able to trade them before even playing a game, the league must review this situation. Mr. Dumont stated that Portland did not want to add to the offer that Rod Brind'amour had received. In fact the HBMHLPA should be reviewing these comments. I know myself and a number of other owners and general managers believe in the free economy and it is evident by these moves he is not."
When questioned about Chris Osgood, as well as McCabe and Schneider Wendling stated the following, "Osgood is the same as Brind'amour, no games played and traded, it is a farce. With the case of McCabe and Schneider you have new ownership with high salaries in New York, again it is not something I like to see, but there is a bit more understanding in that situation."
In his most recent rant Robert Dumont had made comments about the London area, and Eric Lindros. "I would suggest that Mr Dumont is looking for other angles to have the press look at instead of focusing on the issues that he is circumventing the entire unrestricted free agent process. If I was to bring up comments about the Kitchener Greenshirts or London Nationals from years gone by you would wonder why I was going down that road. It has no bearing on anything. Mr Dumont does not want to look at the facts, and the facts are simple, I have this nice big ring on my finger that says we are the defending champions, we walked into New England today and beat them despite missing Wade Redden due to injuries. If Dumont paid as much attention to his team as he seems to about our team maybe they might have some hardware to speak of.
Ice Chips:
Wade Redden returns from his injury for the Werewolves in their game against Suffolk. Suffolk has been struggling despite opening the vault this past off season.
