Toronto lands premier center Mike Fisher and Eric Fehr for picks!

Toronto, ON). The Wolfpack were in acquisition mode today adding significant forward depth to the club. All around center Mike Fisher and winger Eric Fehr were acquired from the Vancouver Jackals for two 3rd round draft picks. The deal adds a starting center in Fisher to the team and forward depth with Fehr.

GM Thom Welch had this to say about the move, " we felt after trading Krejci we were a little thin at center, Mike will play major minutes for us going forward centering our top line with scorers Ilya and Danny. He will provide a defensive presence for the line but can chip in some offense too. With Eric we have another forward that can put the biscuit in the backet. Where he fits now is hard to say, we are working on some other moves that may free up some ice time."

This move is typical of Welch and the Wolfpack, they continue to build for the future with Fehr but add veteran depth for a playoff push wih Mike Fisher, who is only on a 1-year deal. It remains to be seen if this deal will workout, but considering that it only required sending two mid-range draft choices to the Jackals, it appears worth the risk.
