Toronto ends preseason on positive.

Toronto, ON). The Wolfpack completed their preseason schedule with a 5-2 win over Canadian conference rival Winnepeg Bison. This win ends the Wolfpack pre-season schedule with a 6-3 record and included a three goalie rotation in the pre-season. Obviously Pekka Rinne is the starting netminder but both Vesa Toskala and Andrew Raycroft got starts during the pre-season.

Coach O'Reilly said, "we need to keep them sharp, they all are capable goaltenders that have solid experience. Pekka has the lead and will be our go to netminder to start the season but both Vesa and Andrew are capable backups."

On the forward ranks, Captain Rick Nash leads the way as usual. His 9 points in the pre-season led the team and he will be counted on to continue to provide this offense in the season. Nash and Henrik Zetterberg are the catalysts of the offense with newcomer Phil Kessel looked on for additional powerplay work. The defense is led by Nik Kronwall and Joe Corvo and shutdown d-men Fedor Tyutin and Mark Fistric. UFA signee Mathieu Schneider will provide offense from the backend as needed.

How the Toronto squad pulls together during the year is anyone's guess, but the pieces appear in place to ice a competitive squad with one of the lower payrolls in the league.
