And could this be the new logo?
"I don't know if it is true or not 'cause I haven't reached anyone officially, but that's what I'm hearing," stated Winter Hawks GM Morrison. "I guess it makes some sense based on what goes on, but the Hartford Turnstiles doesn't really have a traditional hockey sound to it, you know what I mean? I think maybe it's in recognition of the player turnover they're seeing in that franchise or something. I don't think it's a great name myself 'cause it makes me think of a defenseman 'getting turnstiled' which doesn't conjure up a very positive image. When I first heard it I thought they meant Turnpikes, 'cause I hear they have some of those out there too."
"I had a call from Jason the other day and Alex just called me today. Those guys only had a chance for two of the 3 "S"s before they got sent out of town. I feel kind of bad, you know? I mean, as a player your ego takes a bit of a pounding when you get traded. You can feel unwanted and you always end up comparing yourself to the guys going the other way to get a sense of worth. And it's a bad time of year to get moved once, let alone twice like these guys have. Alex told me Pauly (Samuel Pahlsson) already has his bags packed, or maybe he just never unpacked them. He also told me he thinks 'Sharkey' had better bring in some PK guys while he's at it. He says he's gonna need them."
"I talked to Brindy and he thinks it's just a bunch of B.S. He wasn't there very long either, if you remember, but for one thing, he figures Dumont's too cheap to pay for the change. I tried to get Danila to let us change the name of The Rose Garden last year when I had that $10 million naming rights deal lined up, but he wouldn't let me. That coulda saved us last year, but NO! He probably wouldn't approve that name change anyway. It might not be good for the League. Whatever, Dumont can do whatever he wants as far as I'm concerned. As long as the ice is frozen and the beer is cold when the Winter Hawks get there, we're good."
