Chicago, IL) The trade winds were blowing in Chicago lately when GM Thom Welch was taking offers for franchise defenseman Dougie Hamilton. Welch said it was just an issue of salary, "we are a budget team and Dougie is one of our top paid players". However when Dougie heard these rumors he was none too happy, "I'll show them!" With rival Denver coming into town, Hamilton went out and proved he may be too valuable to move with the forward group lacking offense Dougie went out and chipped in 2 goals including the game winner. He was quickly removed from the trade market. Welch said, "in retrospect Dougie is right, we need his game right now".
As far as the heavy game goes, Oshie better toughen up, we have a long season ahead and the Cats play a heavy game with Wilson, Ferland, and Burrows on the front end. "We barely hit him tonight, I think he better sharpen his skates, and stop complaining", Ferland added, "Next time we may not be as nice!..haha
The teams don't meet again for several weeks but the night is shaping up to be a good one. Time will tell how this one will go!
