As mentioned in an earlier article it was indeed, decided to sign youngsters Joel Edmundson & Chris Wideman (below right) to 3 year entry contracts.Edmundson is receiving $705k the next three seasons while Wideman will see $641k for his three.
They were both signed to 'A' contracts meaning they could be under team control for 9 seasons.

Edmundson is slated for the 3rd line D pairing on the left side partnering with Adam McQuaid (top right) on the right. Both are crease clearing dmen so opponents will pay the price if they try to stay in front of the Spurs' netminders. The first line D pairing looks to be the offensive minded blueliners Keith Yandle and Torey Krug with the second pairing being Cam Fowler & Erik Johnson. Chris Wideman will see playing time when Erik Johnson's expected injury time kicks in.
Luke Schenn's (last on left) playing time is likely to be extremely limited this season. He'll be retained in the event that two blueliners go down at the same time.

The first pairing of Yandle-Krug is expected to produce a lot of offense when they are on the ice with the first forward line of Toews-Panarin-Oshie.Time will tell if these defense pairings remain in tact or if some shuffling goes on. Right now, though, this appears to be how it will shake out.
