Snow Cats land Kopitar and build out roster..

Chicago, IL). Chicago wasted little time dipping into free agency landing franchise center Anze Kopitar to man the top line and work special teams. Anze will see time in both the PK and PP. Who Anze plays with is not set yet, but Coach Petersen has options now with the recent signing of Jason Spezza. Jason was brought in for his offensive and game may work with Anze and his high defensive acumen.

In addition to the forward ranks the team inked Peter Budaj to compete with Ben Bishop for the number one netminding duties. Peter has a style that should fit into Chicago's defensive system. It's unlikely Chicago can compete with the powerhouse teams in the HBMHL, so defense and goaltending will be paramount.

Prior to free agency, Chicago was building a system of prospects, and a potential starter in defenseman Josh Morrissey through the HBMHL entry draft. Josh has the potential for top 4 minutes in the future and plays a solid two-way game. In total, Chicago added 8 more prospects to the system including high end scorers Adrian Kempe and Pontus Aberg. Time will tell whether these prospects pan out, or are a flash in the pan!
