Kostitsyn Back In London.....Finally

London (CP) - Sergei Kostitsyn arrived back in London, the place he played his junior hockey this past week. In a trade with Las Vegas the Werewolves sent their third round pick Andrei Lokitonov and former first rounder Mikael Boedker to the Hitmen for Saku Koivu and Kostitsyn. The trade also involved in a swap of third round picks.

"We had a deal to bring Sergei home about 20 months ago." The deal was voided and caused the resignation of Rob Dumont current owner of the Tampa Bay Raiders. "We took the high road at the time and let it go and let Rob throw his semi-annual hissy fit. The interesting part is when he came back, he never tried to make amends in anyway. When the new owner came into place we tried to make a deal offering more than we had but could not get it done." stated GM Mark Wendling. Kostitsyn has travelled quite abit in his time in the HBMHL, as this is now the fifth team he has suited up for.

"We saw him play quite a bit as a junior, we know what he can do given the chance, we also know that he has to be put into situations where he can succeed and we believe we can do that. The player being forgotten is Saku Koivu. Koivu is a true leader not just in hockey but in life. He has fought and succeeded in the biggest battle a person can have, and we are proud to have him part of our team, teaching our young team what they need to do to succed." stated GM Wendling, in reference to Koivu's cancer battle.

"Although we are 1-3 since they arrived, we believe we are better, and we will start to win. If we could just win against our division we would be tops in the division and be holding that key number 2 seed in the Conference for the playoffs. That is where we want to be at the end of the season."

The London Knights have a tradition of throwing sombrero's when players get a hat trick in a game. The Werewolves are hoping to see a few on the ice when Sergei hits his stride.
