Toronto acquire checking center Samuel Pahlsson...

Toronto, ON). Today Toronto addressed some defensive needs acquiring checking center Samuel Pahlsson from the San Jose Chuckleheads for prospect Andrew Ebbett and a 3rd round pick. Pahlsson is known throughout the league for his PK prowess which has been a problem area for the Wolfpack during the pre-season. Andrew Ebbett was deemed expendable with the signing of veteran center Doug Weight in the off season who will serve as the spare playmaking center.

GM Thom Welch said," we felt we needed more depth on the defensive forward group, Sami is an amazing defensive force that should solidify our PK and checking game immediately. The loss of Ebbett can be replaced with some of our in house forward group."

Toronto may have reacted to the recent 9-2 pre-season drubbing by the London Werewolves, however Toronto started 3rd string prospect Curtis McElhinney in goal and just got an overall poor effort team wide. However, Pahlsson is a proven PK force that will also help the team in the faceoff circle. It appears this deal was a no brainer and should slot Pahlsson immediately into the 3rd/4th line checking role.
