Sharks Deal Schenn Twice in 48 Hours

A couple days ago New England Sharks rearguard Luke Schenn was packing his bags for St Louis.  It was no secret that he was on the trade block and he thought he was headed to the Browns in a deal that brought John-Michael Liles to New England.

The only problem?  The move that St Louis made to acquire Liles was nixed by the commissioner due to some league roster violations.  New talks fell apart and the Sharks had to turn to other options.

In the end GM Geoff Towle agreed to move Brent Burns in exhcange for Luke Schenn and talented prospect Michael Grabner.  It hasn't been the smoothest month for Schenn, but in the end he should get a lot more playing time with his new club.

Burns will provide some offensive punch for the Sharks and should be a big part of their future going forward.  It is uncertain how much he will contribute to the team this season, but as he gets more acclimated with his new team he could log top four minutes as early as this year.
