Rebuild continues..Toronto deals up and comer David Krejci!

Toronto, ON). David Krejci is no longer a Wolfpack center. He has been traded. The lucky team is the Saskatoon Bears. He was sent with for Tomas Kopecky for Saskatoon 2011 1st round pick, 4th round pick, and Todd White. The move opens up room at center ice for veteran center's Mike Modano and Daniel Briere. Todd White may also figure in collecting some minutes at center ice.

GM Thom Welch had this to say, " we like David Krejci a lot and didn't want to move him but he is projected as a second or third line center. We need to find a number one center long term and we didn't think David could fit the role on our team. We are looking for players with more physical presence to work into our lineup with our veteran's over the next couple years."

Toronto now has two 1st round selections that may end up in the top 5 in next years entry draft. Both these players figure to be major pieces to the rebuild in Toronto. Toronto still has Briere, Lombardi, Modano, and checking center Sami Pahlsson patroling center ice so that area is still fully manned for the time being. Depth may be an issue but Toronto is well under their self-imposed salary cap so further changes are possible as the Wolfpack are always in pursuit of the playoffs although this year may be difficult with only 7 wins thus far. With solid young goaltending and a strong defense, Toronto looks to remake the forward lines in the next couple years. Those two picks will go along nicely with young up and comers Kessel, Clarkson, Leino, and Wolski.
