Toronto surges with new lineup...looks to HB Playoffs

Toronto, ON). Toronto Wolfpack today knocked off the powerhouse Alberta Rams with a 3-0 shutout. This is the second shutout for Evgeni Nabokov in 8 games for the Wolfpack who have had a resurgence since the trade deadline and the addition of several new key contributors. Recent acquisitions, Keith Tkachuk, Nicolai Zherdev, Patrick O'Sullivan and Jim Vandermeer among others, have solidified the team concept and brought more skill level to special teams, especially the second powerplay unit.

Of course the leaders of the Pack, Henrik Zetterberg and Rick Nash continue their high scoring prowess, but also contribute a high defensive skill set to the team. This victory puts Toronto at a record of 7-1 since the trade deadline and within one game of an even record on the year. With only 14 games remaining in the season, Toronto looks to continue there winning ways and threaten Canadian division leaders London Werewolves and Vancouver Jackals. Toronto has played well against each, having gone 4-1 versus division rival London and spliting games against Vancouver thus far at 2-2.

Toronto needs to continue to get improved goaltending from starter Evgeni Nabakov. His recent play has his save percentage over 90% for the first time this season. If he can continue this play into the playoffs, who knows how far the Pack will go.
