Rams Send Jagr Packing

- Alberta, Coliseum - Offices of the Alberta Rams

Jaromir Jagr was sent packing to the St. Louis Browns recently, his third HBMHL team this season, in exchange for wingers Erik Christensen and Ruslan Fedotenko. While management expects neither to replace Jagr, both should do an adequate job in the interim. Christensen has the most upside being 24 years of age. If he can at least be a productive 3rd liner in the future for the Rams, management will be happy.
The trade was primarily financial in nature so the Rams could eliminate Jagr's contract from the payroll. His production playing on the 2nd line wasn't enough to warrant the $16 million plus contract.
Jagr, no doubt, will be much more productive playing on the Browns' first line.
As a matter of fact, he has been instrumental in the Browns' current 2 game winning streak and hopes to help lead the Browns to the playoff spot coveted by new GM Brent Hodge.

Prior to moving Jagr, the Rams also signed port sider and bad boy Chris Simon to a league minimum contract in the hopes he would provide some grit playing with Jagr and dig some pucks out of the corners. That experiment failed as Simon appears to be just a shadow of his former self. He's currently been banished to the 4th line and may soon find himself in the AHL once again.
