Toronto, ON).
Today the Toronto Wolfpack acquired Robin Regehr and a 4th round pick for defenseman Matt Carle from the Philadelphia Bulls.
The deal precedes the upcoming HBMHL trade deadline and appears to deepen the defensive core of the Wolfpack. Although Carle was good on offense for Toronto this deal brings in another shutdown defenseman for the playoff push.
Regehr will most likely be paired on the second pairing with Johnny Boychuk forming a solid body checking duo. He is expected to see a lot of short handed ice time as well.
Toronto fans are hungry for playoff hockey and this deal may just be the start of additions to the Wolfpack prior to the trade deadline. GM Thom Welch said," we like our team but would like to get in tournament this year for our fans, without mortgaging the future, we think this deal helps us reach that goal".
