Blockbuster in Toronto!....

Toronto, ON). Today major changes took place in Wolfpack country as perennial All Star franchise center Henrik Zetterberg, defenseman Chris Philips, and cash considerations were sent to Suffolk for the rights to the 1st overall selection in the HBMHL 2010 entry draft. This deal took the team by surprise. As the pre-season starts soon, many players were left with only questions, and no answers," I guess that is the GM's idea of a shakeup, Henrik will be missed" , said David Krejci.

GM Thom Welch said," we are going younger, we took a talented high scoring high paid top 8 forward group into the playoffs last year and were disappointed with the performances, we feel we need an injection of skill and youth, especially on special teams. We see this draft about 20 deep with a variety of players that could start day 1. "

What the Wolfpack will do with the number one overall choice is somewhat obvious now as the gapping whole at center ice is ominous. Several potential solutions include Matt Duchene and John Tavares. However high end goaltenders are also available in the draft including Tuukka Rask, Jimmy Howard, and Sergei Varlamov. Stud defender Tyler Myers is also at the top of many draft boards. Toronto is likely to choose from this group.

It is rumored other veteran talent may also be ticketed out of town. Stay tuned as this version of the Wolfpack is evolving day to day.
