Toronto dealing heavy at deadline..acquire Kunitz, Pavelski, and Leino in separate deals.

Toronto, ON). Toronto dealt away fan favorite and sniper Phil Kessel today in major deal with the Montreal Mobsters. The deal included sending Sean Bergenheim and a 3rd round pick. In return Toronto received up and coming center iceman Joe Pavelski and perennial scorer R.J. Umberge with a 4th round pick. The deal comes on the heels of two other moves that were made to set up the team for the post season.
In a deal earlier in the week, Toronto dealt two top prospects Luke Adam and Derek Englland to the Denver Spurs for former Wolfpacker Ville Leino. The deal reunites Ville with Toronto after being dealt last year to Denver. Ville is having a breakout year and should fit in well on Toronto. GM Welch said," our PP has been a major problem and we think Ville can help solve these issues with his adept passing."
Previously, Toronto acquired Chris Kunitz from Las Vegas for two draft picks. Chris is a proven scorer and will fit in well in Toronto's top six.
All these moves appear to be made solidify Toronto for a playoff run. GM Welch said," we have missed the playoffs the last few years and we want to be part of the tournament this year. We hope these moves make it happen for us. We still would like more depth on the blueline heading into the trading deadline. We'll see if something materializes."
